History

In 1995 when I purchased my first Citroen, the BX, there were few websites that provided much information on this model. Out of a necessity to learn more about the marque and to satisfy a need to better understand its wonderful hydropneumatic suspension, I started the "BX Homepage" in January 1997 which was hosted by "Geocities" . Starting initially with only 6 pages, the site began to grow as my website development skills improved over the years.
The "Q & A Forum" began in June 1997 via email and postings were originally converted into HTML format and periodically uploaded to the website. This method became tedious and time consuming. In April 1998, an interactive version of the "Q & A Forum" started life on the now defunct "InsideTheWeb" host. The forum rapidly gained a reputation as a friendly and technically savvy place to solve BX related problems. When "InsideTheWeb" shutdown operations in mid 2000, the forum moved to "Boardhost" where it continued to attract more visitors.
In 2002, with increasing traffic to the "BX Homepage", the allotted bandwidth for a free website was breached and "Geocities" shutdown the site several times. As an interim fix, the website moved to "Tripod" in mid 2002. On the forum front, "Boardhost" introduced several advertising schemes that became a frequent topic of discussion and their marketing ploys were not appreciated by regulars to the forum.
Pre-empting the inevitable, in September 2003, I registered the domain name "Citroenz.com" and proceeded to rent a space where the latest and to date, greatest version of the "BX Homepage" resides together with an uprated and updated version of the "Q & A Forum". With the addition of a Berlingo in 2001 and a CX in 2002 to my stable of Citroens, the site is now no longer BX specific and is simply known as "CitroenZ".
Finally, no ads, no banners and no popups, the way it should be.
